Had a half-mile wide EF4 miss my house by only 200 meters back in 2018. I'll never forget the sound of that thing. Tornadoes don't sound like trains, trains sound like tornadoes. I was pretty sure I was gonna be dead or homeless by the end of that night but luckily we just had to redo the gutters and clear some debris and fallen trees.

There are so many of us Americans that have forgotten our own history that it's saddening. Singing The Star Spangled Banner and saying The Pledge of Allegiance has become monotonous and meaningless to many. Glad to see that someone from across the pond appreciates this bit of our history. Lots of false/misleading information in the original video. NSA has nothing to do with the president's movements. It's mostly DHS (including US Secret Service) and DOD (Air Force and Marine Corps). There are not 50 vehicles in the presidential motorcade. There are often 50 or more vehicle moving with the president, but most are not part of the official (integral) motorcade. The actual motorcade consists of about 10 Secret Service vehicles (including the two limos) and a few local police vehicles and an ambulance. The additional vehicles trail the motorcade and are rented/hired vans and SUVs that carry lower-level support staff and the media. These additional vehicles are not technically part of the motorcade, and the only vehicles that are transported to the venue the president visits are the actual black ones that are highly specialized and owned by the Secret Service. All the other vehicles are either local police or rented vans and SUVs that are locally sourced.

As Iowans, we hear the tornado siren, and we go to roofs and outside to see if we can spot them. We don’t think of them as a joke to be shrug off. But we have curiosity just enough to want to see it in person because online videos don’t sate our curiosity. Now tornadoes are form the same way winds do. Where the high front and cold front meet, that’s where your winds and storms form. If the winds are strong enough they’ll circle around and that’s what we call a tornado. It can be instantaneous but usually starts from the sky to ground. A tornado watch means conditions are favorable but no touchdown has been confirmed. A tornado warning is touchdown is confirmed. A tornado emergency is its coming your way and you don’t have much time to react.

5:30 to answer your question, yes. Several times. I live in south west Ohio and when I was young I had one go down my street. I remember being in the basement and my dad put a mattress overtop of me and then was laying on it so it wouldn’t move. That same tornado uprooted a giant tree in our yard that fell onto our roof and caved it in. Thankfully all that needed fixed was one wall and the roof/ ceiling on once side. Then in high school I was sitting in science class and noticed out the window that the weather was suddenly acting weird. I got an alert on my phone and looked out the window. Our school was in the country and the side of the building I was on had all farm land and I saw a tornado starting to form. I was the only one who noticed. I called the teacher and he called the office who immediately turned the sirens on. We all had to go to the hallways and wait. As we were going to the hall is when I got the alert for a tornado warning on my phone. The do sometimes come too late. Oh and last year there was tornadoes going around my area and the winds from that storm pulled a small tree up from our yard. It was already dying so it was weak. But during that storm a friend of mines house was hit by one. She was in bed when the alert came on her phone. She barely made it to the hallway before it hit her house and busted her bedroom window. They lost a barn and part of their house that night.

It looks pretty nice to me. I bought a 1964 built house before covid. Its about 1200 sq. ft on 1/3 acre within walking distance to everything you need. I paid $135,000. I've put quite a bit of remodeling into it, nothing drastic like moving walls. It needed a new HVAC, new windows, new flooring. During covid prices nearly doubled and continued to rise. They have settled back some. My house would sell for about $350,000 now. Its 2 bedrooms, one bath, attached carport, storage shed in the yard, which is large and fenced for the dogs.

Dumb part of this video is the original video's narrator repeatedly talking about the "NSA" (National Security Agency) which literally had next to nothing to do with US Presidential movements. The agencies involved are mainly the Department of Homeland Security, its subservient agency, the US Secret Service, and the Department of Defense in a support role. The NSA deals in electronic based foreign intelligence, counterintelligence and counterespionage. It has nothing to do with moving the president.

This may be news to you, but *motion cameras were invented in 1889-1890.* They had no sound, or color, but they did record footage. Hollywood movies already existed in 1925, so of course cameras were there, just no where near as advanced as they were in the generations to come. It wouldn't be until 1932 when Technicolor cameras were invented and being used. Just a little history lesson for ya.

Most US houses are built of wood. Nobody builds a stone or concrete house in the north. It would be freezing and energy costs would be crazy. A lot of houses down south use block. If all the proper steel fasteners are used a wood house can usually stand up to a hurricane but nothing can be skipped or it becomes the weak link in the chain to catastrophic failure.

I'm pretty sure that brick homes are more dangerous. If you live out there I would highly suggest getting a shelter put in the garage or built into the closet.

If you're eating lunch and a grizzly shows up, just hope it's more interested in your food than you. Slowly stand up and back away. If it advances toward you, put your arms out as wide as possible and make as much loud noise as you can. Hopefully it will leave for an easier meal, but if it wants to eat you, there's not a whole lot else you can do. You can't outrun it, you can't climb a tree, you can't swim away from it. It's better at all of those than you.

I live in a 3 bedroom two bathroom house. It says 2car garage but my suv basically takes up the garage so my husband park his truck outside. We live on a half acre of land. We think our house is small because we have two kids 😂 but also prices are increasing so some houses are $200,000 - $400,000. It really just depends on space and what you looking for depending on house. Also the mail comes to our house lol! Some people do have a P.O. Box instead but it’s up to you! Unless you live in the apartment. I also live in Alabama so depending on state depends on what you get!

The minimum you want in the USA is a 3 bed 2 bath. Anything smaller and you can never sell it. And never buy a house you can't sell. My house is below average in the USA but bigger than Spain's average. I don't have a pantry but I do have a separate utility room for the washer, dryer, and deep freezer. I have a really nice 3 lane wide driveway. I decided I never again want anyone to wake me up to move my car because someone else is blocked in. Dedicated parking spot. Wonderful.

The video he's watching aren't the average. My neighborhood consists of smaller homes unless additions were made. My house is a 2 bedroom, approximately 500 square feet, small front and back yard, 1 bathroom , kitchen, livingroom.

I live in the Yukon Territory, NW Canada. We occasionally see dust devils, but there was one smaller tornado that directly hit an inactive sawmill. No one was there, but the structure had its metal roof not only ripped off, but 30' long metal roof channels, each component better than 100 pounds apiece, were found twisted into pretzels a thousand feet away. Nowadays we see occasional spicy winds but nothing to this level of destruction.

Mail can be different from city to city in the US. The city I live in has mail slots in the door, so we get mail through the door like the UK. However, sending mail means I have to go find a drop box or a post office, which is annoying. I prefer the classic US mailbox, with the red flags you can pop up to send outgoing mail. Also, cost of living is drastically different from state to state and city to city. I bought my 2400 square foot home on about a half acre of land for $250k two years ago. That would have cost me $800k in the city I moved from, and it would have been perhaps unfeasible to find a lot that big anyway.

I live in Minnesota and survived the St Peter tornado in 1998. It was an F4. I was driving thru town on my way back to college after spring break. We pulled over while the tornado blew over my friend and I. Two nice guys stopped when it was over and unburied my car from debris. The home I stopped in front of was no longer there. I hit the gas driving over power lines just trying to to get the 10 more miles to my dorm. My car ended up being totaled with all the body damage. All windows cracked, and hubcaps broke, passenger side bowed in from all the debris hitting the car and my cars antenna completely folded in half. Luckily we were both fine

So, tornados form from Warm, moist air from the gulf of Mexico and Cold, dry air from the rockies which perfectly mix in the midwest, causing a coriolis effect. Which causes the air to spin Counterclockwise, the basics of how a tornado forms adam 👍

And people wonder why the US has guns. Several members of my family have had either had their cars heavily damaged or totaled by deer. We have almost hit them several times and sometimes it isn't that you hit them, but they hit you while running across the road. Bison tend to hurt people because people get out of their cars to take "close up" photos and think that such a big creature isn't fast enough to catch them, or they try to feed them from their cars, not knowing these animals could roll the car over if they want to.

I live in Oklahoma City and every year we get hit by a tornado. I volunteer for rescue/clean up for all tornados. I am a nurse and have to go to the hospital to help. I've lived in Oklahoma since 1982 and have never seen a tornado.

So, this happened almost 50 years ago, but my parents went on a camping trip in Northern Minnesota in the early 80s and didn't secure their food well when they went into town to have dinner with my aunt and uncle. It started to storm while they were at dinner and so my dad and uncle went back to the campsite to pack stuff up and found the tent demolished and the cooler they had been using had had the lid ripped off. The cooler belonged to my grandma and she decided it was still worth keeping after being cleaned out. But it had claw punctures in the lid until the day she finally got rid of it (sometime in the early 2000s). The tent had been one of my uncle's and had this MASSIVE rip down one side. My folks bought it from him and my dad repaired it and we used it for camping until I was in high school.

My ex boyfriend's mother lived in Beecher in 1953, she and her father watched the storm from the front porch.

I am in the incredibly fortunate position of living in the middle of a low lying river valley surrounded by hills on all sides. Even though tornados happen in the lands around us all the time, not a single one has ever entered our town because of the geography protecting it. Doesn’t make the tornados any less scary though! (Supposedly geography doesn’t impact tornado paths but personal experience tells me otherwise)

I've been bitten by a brown recluse. I figured out what bit me within 6 hours went to the urgent care and got medicine for it. By the time the medicine started to work on the bite on my calf, the area had started to rot so much that I could stick a pencil into my leg about two inches deep and the pencil not touch the sides. I could also walk with the penicl flopping in my leg without it falling out.

March 1, 1997. I'm 24 and 4 months pregnant, moving from Virginia to Arkansas with my sister, my cats and everything I owned in a uhaul... and my car attached on a dolly. We were driving in the middle Tennessee shortly before midnight, had no idea what county we were in as we heard the warnings on the radio. It started to pour down rain, then the wind came. We had to pull over as we couldn't see 2 feet in front of us. The truck starts rocking around like there are 20 grown men outside pushing it. We had to leave the truck and dove into a ditch on the side of the highway. We were being pelted by random debris lying face down in a grassy ditch with water everywhere. It slowly calmed down but I was absolutely convinced I was going to die that day. But to this day, when the wind blows, I start panicking.

I’m from Tanner, AL and a lot of my family got hit! Thankfully no lives were lost in my family but a lot of them seem it in their backyard. We were in the hallway all day long! My mom decided not to send us to school last minute and sirens started going off at 7:30am. Tornadoes start by the mixture of the moisture in the air. There no way to stop them only a way to tell people before they hit.

Most places you can open carry. Meaning the gun is not concealed, you can see it. But a lot of people, at least around where I live get their concealed carry permits. Meaning the gun is covered up, usually under your shirt or coat. I work at a store and had a guy walk in with a pistol holster on his hip. It didn't bother me at all.
